Biography
Laura Elisa Perez Laura Elisa Perez is an Associate Professor in the departments of Ethnic Studies and, Spanish and Portuguese. Her teaching and research are in contemporary U.S. Latina and Latin American women's writing; Chicana/o literature and visual arts; and contemporary cultural theory. Some of her published or forthcoming publications include: "Reconfiguring Nation and Identity: U.S. Latin and Latin American Women's Oppositional Writings," "Reflections and Confessions on the 'Minority' and Post-Colonial Immigrant ID Tour," "For Love and Theory: An Ofrenda," and "El desorden, Nationalism, and Chicana/o Aesthetics." She has a recently published book, Chicana Art: The Politics of Spiritual and Aesthetic Altarities.
